In 2008, I was a managing director in events, public relations, and manpower. We had plenty of projects. Some clients took six months to pay, and my team needed their pay right away. I borrowed money to pay them. I felt that waiting for a client’s payment was my responsibility.

I had never been taught how to manage the financial side of a business. I kept saying yes to projects, had little money set aside, and spent too much time finding funds for the next event. The pressure affected my well-being and the time I had for my children.

That year, I met a friend who worked in construction. I opened up to her about my work in 2010.

The conversation that led me to Feng Shui

We were having coffee and trying to find money for our projects. I told her I needed ₱3 million for an event the following week. We were tired.

She asked, “Dear, do you believe in Feng Shui?” I answered, “At this point, I would believe in anything.”

My friend believed in Feng Shui. She gave me a website to read, and I found a course in Malaysia. I wanted to attend. I borrowed money from my parents, and my father trusted my decision without questioning it.

A month later, I traveled to Malaysia to study at the Lillian Too Institute of Feng Shui. It was my first solo trip abroad. A month after I returned, I received my first client.

The shop was part of my learning

I tried statues, lucky colors, lucky numbers, bracelets, and gemstones. For a time, I sold lucky charms and gemstones through Judith Jade Gemstones and Designs at Parkmall in Mandaue City.

In February 2013, SunStar reported on our shop. We sold bracelets, necklaces, and other gemstone pieces alongside birth-chart readings. Read the original report.

My learning was still developing. As I studied with other masters, I became more careful about how I chose a gemstone and explained a recommendation.

How I approach gemstones now

In my practice, a gemstone recommendation starts with your birth date and birth time. I believe the choice of stone, the way you wear it, and how often you wear it should follow that personal reading.

I do not recommend buying a statue, choosing a lucky number, or wearing a lucky color as a way to solve a business or personal problem. You deserve to know how a recommendation relates to your situation and what the practitioner believes it can do.

My approach to gemstones comes from the tradition I study and practice. When we discuss a recommendation, I explain the reading behind it. Your question, your circumstances, and the decision you face stay part of that conversation.

What I examine during a property assessment

My studies also changed how I looked at a property. I learned to pay attention to the land around it, its direction, and the positions of its entrance and rooms. In classical Feng Shui, I interpret these through qi, the traditional concept of energy that I believe flows through a place.

I look at nearby roads, water, slopes, and buildings. Inside, I examine where people sleep, work, and cook. A floor plan helps me see how the rooms connect. Measurements and photographs help me understand what a recommendation would require.

Bring the decision you need to make

If you are opening an office, show me the property and explain how your team will use it. If you are planning a home, tell me who will live there and what you need from each room. Those details give the assessment a clear purpose.

I remember what it felt like to have people counting on me while I was searching for guidance. That experience still shapes how I work. I want you to understand my advice, ask questions about it, and leave knowing what to consider next.
